Epaderm Cream And Eczema: A Good Match?

There's 100 and 1 different moisturising creams out there - we know.

Especially if you’re new to eczema, it can be difficult to fight through the noise and decide which moisturising cream is actually the best for your skin.

And hey, this is important. Don’t you want only the best for your body’s largest organ? Of course you do!

So that’s why we’ve thrown together this quick guide on Epaderm - a moisturising cream often picked out as a favourite by eczema sufferers.

In this article, you’ll find:

1) What is epaderm cream?

2) Is it good for eczema-prone skin?

3) How to use

4) The downside

5) Alternative options

So, what is epaderm cream?

Epaderm is a 2 in 1 emollient and cleanser that contains clinically proven ingredients to moisturise and soften the skin.

It can be prescribed by doctors in the UK however is also widely available at most pharmacies and large supermarkets - as well as online.

It claims to clear up dry skin within 2 weeks and specifically states it’s suitable for the symptoms of eczema and psoriasis - win!

It can be offered on prescription (great if you can get yourself a doctor's appointment) but is relatively affordable if you go the quicker route of buying it yourself.

It contains no fragrances, synthetic dyes or colourings - great for eczema - and is suitable for all ages including babies.

Is it good for eczema-prone skin?

Yes!

It works fantastically well as a daily moisturiser and is especially effective if applied immediately after washing or swimming to counteract the loss of essential oils from the body.

It can happily be applied onto broken skin without causing any further damage and is also perfectly safe to use on your face and sensitive spots.

How to use

As an emollient:

Apply generously onto the affected area as often as necessary throughout the day, moisturising gently to ensure all cream is absorbed completely.

As a skin cleanser:

Use as required when in the shower or bath.

The downside

As we know with eczema, there’s two parts we really want to tackle:

Number 1 - dry skin.

Number 2 - itchy skin.

And whilst we can see that epaderm cream is very effective at helping to moisturise dry, broken skin, it unfortunately doesn’t help with relieving the need to itch.

This is a big problem as every eczema sufferer will tell you.

So, how can that be fixed?

Well as luck would have it, we have produced the perfect answer - our very own Mugwort Mist!

Enriched with a blend of 3 traditional Chinese herbs trusted for 1000’s of years in Asian medicine, our Mugwort Mist is specifically designed to combat the symptoms of itchy or inflamed skin.

Anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory by nature, it’s also steroid, sulphate and paraben free! So you don’t need to worry about any nasties :)

Final word

So there we have it - a short and sharp run through of Epaderm cream.

It’s great, but when combined with our Mugwort Mist, it’s even better.
